Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will provide expanded transit to and from downtown Columbus for Red, White & BOOM! on Wednesday, July 3, with extended late night local service and Express Service from four Park & Ride locations.

Express Service to downtown Columbus from four select Park & Ride locations will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Customers can purchase fares using the Transit app or COTA Smartcard. Credit cards, C-pass, BuckID, Educational Pass, C-Pass, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are all accepted at the Park & Ride locations.

Additionally, more than a dozen fixed-route transit lines will serve the downtown area prior and during the fireworks celebration. COTA is also extending service hours on all downtown lines until at least midnight to ensure people get home following the festivities.

After the fireworks, COTA express lines and regular local service will leave downtown Columbus from designated Red, White & BOOM! boarding zones along High Street from State Street to Nationwide Boulevard at approximately 10:30 p.m. 11 p.m., 11:30 p.m. and midnight. Times might vary depending on the timing of the fireworks display.

Boarding zones will be posted in downtown transit shelters and can be found at COTA.com/BOOM. Customers with questions can also look for COTA employees wearing branded blue shirts.
